Invictus Coatings
Concrete Coating in American Fork, UT
American Fork sits at the foot of American Fork Canyon, where hard winters, road salt runoff, and dramatic seasonal temperature swings put concrete through more stress than most homeowners realize. Invictus Coatings is a Draper-based concrete coating company serving American Fork homeowners and businesses throughout Utah County. We install durable, professionally prepared coating systems for garages, basements, driveways, and commercial floors. If you want a floor that holds up in this climate without peeling or fading, the prep process is everything, and that's where we start every job.
Why American Fork Concrete Needs More Than a Basic Coating
American Fork's location at the base of the Wasatch Front means concrete here takes a beating. Canyon road salt migrates into driveways and garage floors during winter. Temperature swings between summer highs and winter lows cause slabs to expand and contract repeatedly. Moisture from snowmelt works its way into unprotected concrete and accelerates cracking and surface deterioration over time.
A professionally installed concrete coating system does more than improve the look of your floor. It creates a sealed, bonded barrier that protects the structural integrity of the slab underneath. The key word is bonded. A coating that isn't properly adhered to the concrete won't protect it. It will lift, peel, and leave the slab in worse shape than before.
Invictus installs coating systems that are mechanically bonded to the concrete through a full diamond grinding and preparation process. That bond is what separates a coating that lasts a decade from one that fails before the next winter.
What a properly installed concrete coating delivers:
Full protection against road salt, oil, chemicals, and moisture penetration
A sealed surface that resists the freeze-thaw damage common in canyon-adjacent climates
Slip-resistant texture that improves safety in wet and snowy conditions
A surface that handles vehicle traffic, heavy storage, and daily use without degrading
UV-stable color that holds up through high-altitude sun exposure
A finished floor that improves the function and resale value of your home
Color, flake, and finish options to fit any aesthetic

Do you love the look and durability of polished concrete but it's just too expensive?! This coating resembles polished concrete, is more waterproof than polished concrete and it's easier to maintain with only half the cost! We fill the cracks of the concrete, grind it smooth and remove any stains or imperfections with grinding, then apply 2 coats of clear Water Based Urethane which is stronger, longer lasting and more uv stable than clear Water Based Epoxy or polyurethane.

Concrete densifying is a process that involves treating concrete surfaces with a specialized chemical solution that penetrates deep into the pores of the concrete, reacting with the minerals to create a denser, harder surface. This treatment is ideal for concrete floors that are subject to heavy traffic, wear, and tear. Concrete densifying can help to improve the durability and longevity of concrete surfaces, making them more resistant to scratches, stains, and other types of damage. It can also enhance the appearance of the concrete by creating a smoother, shinier surface. If you're looking to protect and improve the performance of your concrete floors, concrete densifying is an excellent solution to consider.

Utahs weather kills concrete, Seal your concrete driveway, pool deck, pavers, floors, stairs etc. All concrete must be sealed to maintain its strength and beauty. On average, int utah it must be re-sealed every 2-4 years. We offer 3 types of outdoor concrete sealant.
-Water-based sealant: This is a thin glossy clear film of sealant, suggested for driveways and pool decks. Creating a water resistant effect to protect concrete from water freezing damage.
-Solvent-based sealant (wet-look): A penetrating glossy sealant that creates a film over the substrate mimicking how it looks when its wet. This is perfect for pavers, colored concrete, stamped concrete, pool deck and coping. Makes faded colored concretes color pop once again. This is water proof and protective against salt and water damage.
-Hydrophobic lithium concrete sealer: This includes a professional concrete cleaning with a high power pressurewasher, scrubber and detergent to pull the dirt out of the concrete. Then an application of the newest and best technology in concrete sealing and densification, a lithium sealer that will make your concrete hydrophobic, meaning water will bead up on top of it rather than soak into it. This helps to protect the concrete from salt damage, spalling and cracking. Rated to last 3-5 years. This is completely invisible and not noticeable when applied.

How We Install Concrete Coatings in American Fork
We follow the same process on every job because shortcuts in surface preparation are the reason most coatings fail.
What causes concrete coatings to peel or fail prematurely? Almost always, it comes down to surface preparation. A coating applied over concrete that hasn't been properly ground, tested for moisture, or checked for pH won't bond correctly. It may hold for a season, but it won't hold for years. In a climate like American Fork's, where slabs experience significant thermal cycling and moisture stress, that failure happens faster than it would in a more forgiving environment.
Step 1: On-Site Floor Assessment We evaluate the condition of your concrete in person before recommending any system. We look at surface condition, existing coatings, visible cracking, control joint integrity, and signs of moisture or efflorescence that could affect adhesion.
Step 2: Diamond Grinding We grind the full surface using professional diamond tooling to achieve the correct concrete surface profile. This opens the pores of the slab so the coating bonds into the concrete, not just onto it. It also removes any existing sealers, paint, or surface contaminants that would prevent adhesion.
Step 3: pH and Moisture Testing We measure both pH and moisture vapor emission rate before any product is applied. Concrete that reads outside acceptable ranges gets addressed before we proceed. This step is non-negotiable for a coating that will last.
Step 4: Base Coat Application The base coat is applied at full manufacturer-specified thickness for your chosen system. We don't cut product ratios or thin coatings to move faster.
Step 5: Decorative Broadcast Color flakes, metallic pigments, or solid color tints go down at the specified coverage rate for your finish type.
Step 6: Polyaspartic Topcoat A clear, UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat seals and protects the system. This is the layer that delivers surface hardness, chemical resistance, and the abrasion tolerance that keeps the floor looking right under daily use.
Step 7: Final Walk-Through We inspect the completed floor with you before we leave. If anything needs attention, it gets handled on-site.
